LSTW Magazine – Call for Submissions

Leave your thoughts

Do you want to contribute to LSTW? We are currently accepting pitches for our second print issue!

We’re seeking submissions from writers, illustrators and photographers living across Canada, and will be paying an honorarium of $100 per article or artwork. Articles will range in length from 500 to 2,000 words.

In our first issue, we featured a story about a Cameroonian refugee who came to Canada after being persecuted for her homosexuality, a story about police response to homophobic crimes and a story about the lack of safe sex between women who have sex with women. We also had a fashion spread, a Q&A with former Icelandic Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir and a timeline of lesbian bars in Montreal.

In short, we’re committed to telling a wide variety of stories—so be bold!

Please send a sentence or two about yourself, as well as a short paragraph outlining your story idea, angle and potential sources, or a series of images, to editorial@lezspreadtheword.com.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, April 6, 2017.
