The photographer Darby Routtenberg presents a series of photographs titled Queer Super Heroes. Based in Montreal, Darby explores queer issues related to pop culture.

“I created the photo series in thinking there’s still not enough queer representation in television and film, especially in superhero roles. Why couldn’t two strong female characters be united as a couple, and have a life on the side where they are in a perfectly functional partnership? I wanted to see these otherworldly characters in a real world context, making them do “normal” couple things.”
